Wholesale Prices for Imported Green Apples Declined in Colombian Markets During W47 Due to Increased Imports

During W47, wholesale prices for imported green apples in Colombia decreased in twenty-seven of the thirty-four markets. Traders attribute this decline to increased imports from Chile and France, where production exceeded expectations. In Corabastos, Bogota, prices dropped from USD 2.86 per kilogram (kg) in W46 to USD 2.80/kg in W47. The expectation is for apple prices to continue decreasing, marking the sixth consecutive week of decline for Granny Smith apples.
