Recently the average prices of Wagyu beef for export have been decreasing. A supplier is considering that one of the reasons is that some new suppliers broke into the market in the last few years and are competing for prices. On the other hand, the prices of high-grade Wagyu beef like A4/A5 are still maintained at a high level. The government is trying to expand the export, but some regulatory issues remain, like the difficulty of gathering the certificates and other documents for exportation. For example, only one inspection agency can issue Halal certification, etc.
