Avocado Production Challenges in Peru’s 2023/24 Season

In Peru, the 2023/24 season is marked by a lower percentage of large-sized avocados, with only 20% being large, 25% medium, and 55% small. Additionally, production volumes have substantially decreased. Regarding defects, several issues are preventing the products from being suitable for export. The main problems include pests such as queresa, sunstroke, and damage from basket bugs.
