In both Arizona and California, the pistachio harvest is in full swing. Forecasts indicate that the crop in Arizona will be smaller this season due to hail and heavy rains. Pistachio sizing will also be an issue this season due to the damaged crops. On the other hand, the Californian crop looks good with high quality and large sizes. Californian sellers still need to move the remaining inventories for the 2021 crop, so they are exporting high volumes to MENA and China. Sellers are worried that if they don't move the 2021 crop inventory, the demand and prices for the 2022 crop will drop.
