In W40, slaughter volumes have returned to seasonal norms after Australian public holidays. While Cattle slaughter has been below last year's levels, it has seen an increase of 10% WoW. Lamb slaughter has returned to 2021 levels at 361,568 head, while sheep slaughter was at 112,892 head, signifying a 14% YoY drop. Goat slaughter across the country saw a 45% WoW increase in W40, but South Australia faced a 222% increase from W34 and a 487% YoY. These numbers indicate the growing potential of goat slaughter in South Australia.
