During the WK 3 UK feed wheat futures recovered almost completely after the losses they had two weeks before. The May-22 contract went up by USD 10.09 per MT between 14 and 21 January. Reaching USD 293.71 per MT, this is only USD 0.34 per MT below the price of 7 January.

This correlates well with the trends on the global grain markets, which also rose last week due to weather issues in South America and the political situation in the Black Sea region. Tensions between Russia and Ukraine, both being major wheat exporters, already lead to increase of cost for hydrocarbons what pushed up also the fertilizers prices.

However, the uncertainty regarding global markets persists, as in opposition to the above-mentioned facts, a higher global production is predicted yet for the new season. In this context the trade dynamics in UK were rather low.
