Adverse weather conditions prevailing for a week in the Black Sea have had a detrimental impact on bluefish (Pomatomus saltatrix) fishing for Turkish fishermen. However, the Eastern Black Sea Region has an abundance of bluefish, signaling a bountiful yield for the upcoming harvest. In contrast, the bonito catching faces challenges.

Presently, initial catches of anchovies (Engraulis) command prices ranging from USD 3.36 to USD 3.73 per kilogram (TL 90 to 100). It is expected that anchovy harvesting will increase in the next month, with prices expected to decline to a range of USD 1.87 to 2.24 (TL 50 to 60). This projection aligns with the forthcoming cooler weather conditions, which are conducive to increased fishing activity.

Overall, the adverse weather conditions in the Black Sea have had varying effects on the fishing industry, with bluefish showing promise and anchovy prices set to fluctuate as conditions evolve.
