The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs of South Korea has sent 101 Korean dairy cows to Nepal to Nepal via Incheon International Airport Cargo Terminal, in a partnership with Heifer Korea and the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation. This initiative aims to boost milk production and improve breeding management techniques in Nepal, where milk production per day was previously less than 10 liters. The cows will be distributed to 50 farms in Sindulli district, Kathmandu, and the Korean government will provide two years of diversified support to Nepalese dairy farmers, including on-site education and training in breeding management and disease management. The ministry also plans to promote environmentally friendly dairy farming and allow Nepalese workers to learn breeding skills at South Korean dairy farms.
