A scarlet treasure made by Mt. Jirisan, Sancheong dried persimmon in South Korea

[2022 Korea Representative Brand Grand Prize] Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam, located at the foot of Mt. Jirisan, is considered as the best place for freeze-drying, which has a decisive influence on the quality of dried persimmons. As the cold air from the upper part of Jirisan descends along the valley, it creates a large daily temperature difference, creating a chewy texture and a beautiful orange color. Currently, about 1,300 farms produce about 2,700 tons of Sancheong dried persimmons, earning 40 billion won in farm household income.
