A fish farm owned by businessman Maxim Mostov and his partner Serhiy Meshkov, located near the Ukrainian village of Ukrainka in the Kyiv region, has been producing approximately 1 ton of black caviar per year from sturgeons that can live up to 20 years. The pair invested $30,000 in the farm, purchasing feed and fish species such as sterlet and sturgeon. Sturgeons start laying eggs around 8-10 years old, and the farm begins producing caviar a decade after its establishment. The caviar is harvested through milking and ultrasound scans are used to monitor the fish for egg production. The farm's caviar is sold in the United States and Japan, with a price of 1,700 UAH for 100 grams.
