The Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA) announced a new agreement with the United Kingdom to increase chicken meat export quotas, revising the quotas originally set after Brexit. The quota for cooked chicken has been increased from 26.8 thousand tons to 42 thousand tons, and the quota for salted chicken has been increased from 40.8 thousand to 46.2 thousand tons. This is expected to boost sales and reflect the high demand for Brazilian chicken in the UK market. The agreement comes at a time when Brazilian chicken meat exports have been on the rise, with total revenue reaching US$8.195 billion from January to October, a 29.3% increase from the same period in 2021.
