Addition of targets for the reduction of anchovy area network and offshore fishing vessels in South Korea

Two industries were added to this year's offshore fishing vessel reduction targets:'Steamer net fishing (anchovy fishing)' and'offshore eel trap fishing'. Accordingly, the number of offshore fishing vessels reduced this year will expand to 131 vessels in 11 industries. Since the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries announced the ``2nd Basic Plan for the Improvement of the Structure of Offshore Fisheries in 2019 (2019-2023),'' it has established and has been promoting an implementation plan for reduction of offshore fishing vessels every year.
