Brazilian exports to the United States registered a decline in the first quarter of 2026, with a direct impact also on agribusiness. According to a survey by Amcham Brasil, total sales to the North American market amounted to US$ 7.8 billion, a drop of 18.7% compared to the same period in 2025. With this, the participation of the US in Brazilian exports fell to 9.5%, the lowest level in the historical series started in 1997. In the case of agribusiness, the contraction was even more intense, with a drop of 34.4% in the quarter. The performance contrasts with the advance of Brazilian exports to other destinations, such as China and the European Union, in addition to the 3.5% growth in total sales abroad.
