The Korean Beef Cost Management Committee has allocated an emergency budget of 1.7 billion won to promote the consumption of Korean beef and stabilize the supply and demand to prevent a decrease in prices. The number of Korean cattle is projected to reach 3.45 million by the end of the year, with a forecast of 850,000 to 860,000 slaughtered animals, potentially leading to weaker prices. The committee plans to stabilize prices through various methods, including providing the difference between Korean beef for large meals and issuing discount coupons online. A significant portion of the budget, 950 million won, will be provided by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs. The plan includes investments in promoting low-fat Korean beef and large-scale discount sales of Korean beef until the end of the year.
