The PRI Parliamentary Group in Mexico is pledging to support barley producers from seven states who are protesting against the marketing and stagnant pricing of their product for the past two years. The producers, who plant barley on 340 thousand hectares, have met with the Mexican Malt Barley Product System to highlight the sector's critical situation. The PRI coordinator, Rubén Moreira Valdez, has committed to advocating for fairer conditions for these producers and addressing issues like fair price negotiation and technological development of the product. The farmers are seeking support to obtain detailed information on import volumes and prices, and to ensure respect for the price negotiation process.
