Brazil's beef production is projected to grow by 7.4% in 2024, reaching 10.2 million tons, the second highest in history, according to the National Supply Company (Conab). However, a decrease of 4.3% is expected in 2025, dropping to 9.8 million tons due to the livestock cycle flip and lower cattle availability for slaughter. Slaughter figures have already risen by 18.7% from January to August 2024. Exports, which stood at 3 million tons in 2023, are projected to hit 3.6 million tons by the end of 2024, marking a 28.1% increase until August 2024. Conab anticipates a stable market in 2025 with a slight increase in exports. However, beef prices are expected to rise significantly by the end of 2025, which may lead to an increase in the consumption of other animal proteins like poultry and pork.
