Hungarian beef exports have grown significantly

According to the European Commission, the EU sold 173,000 tonnes of live cattle and beef on the international market between January and March 2021, a narrow 1 per cent more than a year earlier (excluding exports to the UK). It improved the external balance, while EU imports of live beef and beef fell 9 percent to 51.9 thousand tons at the same time. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) data for May, U.S. beef emissions rose 6 percent in the first four months of the year from last year. U.S. beef production is projected to grow 15 percent in the second quarter of 2021, while their imports are expected to decline 7 percent. At the same time, exports could grow by a further 33 percent by mid-summer. In Brazil, meanwhile, a significant 54 percent price increase was recorded for cattle compared to the first four months of the previous year, while exports fell to 710,000 tons, or 3 percent.
