USDA: Beef production down this year in the world

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) downgraded its forecast for world beef production this year, which contracted approximately 1% to 61.1 million tons. According to the agency's report, this is mainly due to a lower performance by the industry in China, whose projection was lower than that made last year by the order of 3.1%, remaining at 6.6 million tons. It would be followed by the United States with an estimate 0.6% lower, with which its processing of bovine meat would rise to 12.3 million tons, however, it would maintain the first place in production globally.
