The European Commission has increased the quota for Thai poultry products in the EU market from 73,024.5 tons to 109,441 tons per year, effective from January 1, 2021. This is seen as a significant opportunity for Thailand to increase its poultry exports to the EU, especially cooked chicken meat, salted chicken, and processed goose duck meat to the UK. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic reducing exports by 16.8% in the first ten months of 2020, the EU remains the second most important market for Thai poultry products after Japan.
