Between January and August of 2021, Cambodia experienced a significant boost in its agricultural exports, with a total of 5.54 million tons sent to 66 countries and regions, marking an 89.7% increase from the previous year. The country's exports generated a gross income of EUR 2.7 billion. The primary exports included rice, rubber, cassava, mangoes, bananas, pepper, cashew nuts, maize, palm oil, and tobacco. While non-rice exports saw a 110% increase, milled rice exports decreased by 23% due to issues with sea container availability and higher transportation costs.
