In 2021, insured farmers and ranchers in Navarra have experienced significantly higher losses, leading to compensation worth 13.8 million euros, a 25% increase from the previous year, according to data from Agroseguro. The majority of the losses were due to vegetable and wine grape crops, with over 4.4 and 2.6 million in loss respectively, as well as herbaceous crops, fruit trees, cherry, forage crops, nuts, loquat, olive groves, and livestock. The losses were predominantly caused by hail storms, with frost and rain also contributing to the damage. Despite the increased claims, Agroseguro has managed to process and pay a significant portion of the compensation to the insured.
