In 2022, despite the war, Ukraine exported 99.8 million tons of goods worth $44.1 billion, with corn and sunflower oil being the leading exports. Despite a decrease in volume and value compared to 2021, corn exports increased by 1%, and sunflower seed exports saw a significant increase due to oil extraction plants reaching capacity. Wheat and poultry meat exports also declined, but revenue increased. The European Union was the largest recipient of Ukraine's exports, receiving 63% of the total, with Poland, Romania, and Hungary being the top recipients. Turkey and China were the largest non-EU markets, but exports to both countries saw significant decreases. Import volume decreased by almost half, but the value decreased by only 19.6%.
