In 2021, Ecuador exported around 15.34 million boxes of mangoes, with the United States and Colombia as the primary markets. The country has 95 sites registered for export, covering 5,858.52 hectares across Los Ríos, Guayas, Santa Elena, and El Oro. These plantations are monitored for fruit flies, complying with international export requirements. Agrocalidad and the Ecuadorian Mango Foundation collaborate on this surveillance, a practice recognized by phytosanitary organizations like the United States, Mexico, and Chile. A team of 60 technicians from Agrocalidad ensures the necessary certification and inspection of the mango packing plants.
