In March 2023, Ukraine experienced a significant increase in the import of various vegetables and fruits, recovering from a period of disrupted trade due to the country's invasion. The imports included high volumes of dried onions, garlic, sweet potato, garden strawberries, and avocados, with record deliveries of spinach and avocados. Garlic imports saw a notable increase, mainly from China and Egypt, and spinach imports reached a five-year high, predominantly from Italy. Sweet potato imports also increased, with contributions from the USA and Egypt. This surge in agricultural imports highlights the recovery of Ukraine's produce markets and the growing demand for a diverse range of food products.
