Ukraine is experiencing a significant increase in the prices of meat, dairy products, and their processing products due to a combination of seasonal factors and the ongoing war. The devaluation of the hryvnia, logistical restrictions, and inflation are contributing to the upward trend in food prices, even amidst limited demand and reduced purchasing power. Milk prices, in particular, have risen significantly, with the price of extra grade milk reaching nearly 11 hryvnias per kilogram. Despite the increased costs, the retail price of finished dairy products is rising by a hryvnia every week. The Association of Milk Producers questions the high markups and claims of "unprofitability" in the dairy sector, given the lower cost of raw materials in Europe.
