The National Chamber of Poultry and Feed Producers has reported a 36.3% increase in the EU's foreign trade balance of eggs in shell and egg products for January 2021, reaching 23.1 thousand tons. Switzerland was the largest importer of EU eggs, followed by Japan and Israel, which experienced a 44% increase in egg exports. Other third countries also increased their shipments by 55.7%. However, the import of eggs and egg products from third countries, led by Ukraine, also rose by 3.7%.
