In 2022, Morocco became the second largest supplier of tomatoes to the European Union (EU) market, surpassing Spain, as reported by Hortoinfo. While the Netherlands continues to lead as the top supplier, Morocco has been closing the gap and has seen a significant increase in its tomato sales, which were 71.33% higher in 2022 compared to 2013. This growth is attributed to the quality of Moroccan tomatoes and the expertise of its national producers.
