Ukrainian farmers are planning to sow around 80,000 hectares of buckwheat in 2021, up from 77,000 hectares due to government subsidies. The cost of buckwheat may rise to UAH 80 per kilogram if the planned sowing volume is met, otherwise, prices may increase gradually. However, the expert does not anticipate a decrease in buckwheat prices for the new harvest, and expects cereal prices to rise, potentially reaching UAH 80 per kilogram by the end of the year. Japan is the world's largest importer of buckwheat.
