The South Korean government is planning to announce measures to stabilize the supply and demand of major kimchi vegetables at the end of October, following a significant drop in cabbage prices. The drop in prices is due to changed production conditions and increased shipment volumes. The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs has already released over 5,000 tons of Chinese cabbage to the market to stabilize prices, and plans to continue supplying cabbage harvested from 100 hectares of fields. The Ministry also expects a 12% increase in Chinese cabbage production in the fall compared to last year, ensuring sufficient supply for the kimchi season.
