Spain: Galicia calls for more than €17 million in aid for meat farmers

The Official Gazette of Galicia (DOG) published on Friday the resolution of the Galician Agrarian Guarantee Fund, dependent on the Ministry of Rural Affairs, calling for just over €17 million in aid for Galician meat producers, on the occasion to mitigate the consequences of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. This is an urgent, extraordinary and exceptional measure to compensate for the economic difficulties that the sector is going through due to the increase in production costs derived from the alteration of the international market for raw materials and supplies, with which it is projected to reach the fence of 12,000 producers. The Xunta recalls that those interested were already able to access these contributions last summer, through advances from a bank subsidized by the Galician Government that allowed them to collect immediately and at zero cost to them.
