In 2024, hazelnut prices in Georgia nearly doubled due to issues in the Turkish market, which is responsible for 70% of the world's hazelnut exports. Despite this, the Georgian Nut Producers Association's executive director, Georgiy Todua, stated that Georgia is producing more high-quality nuts and has greater potential. The majority of Georgia's exports are sent to the European Union, Italy, and Germany, with a focus on quality over quantity. Todua also expressed hope for continued government support for farmers.
