Honey production in Colombia reached 7,000 tons in 2022

In Colombia there are a total of 22 departments with beekeeping activities, generating approximately 10,000 direct and indirect jobs. The Colombian Federation of Beekeepers and Bee Keepers (Fedeabejas) revealed that during 2022 the production of honey bees was close to 7,000 tons. In addition, the entity highlights that there was an 8% increase in the installation of apiaries throughout the country. The union's president, Fabio Diaz Granados, said that the departments with the largest number of apiaries are Antioquia, Santander, Cauca, Córdoba and Cundinamarca.
