The Ukrainian confectionery sector is facing a significant challenge due to a surge in raw material prices, specifically flour. This issue is expected to reduce domestic consumption by 15 thousand tons and lead to around 1,000 job losses by the end of the year. National producers have already suffered a setback of approximately UAH 40 million in the last month. In response, producers will have to increase prices, which could jeopardize their competitive edge in international markets and slow down the growth rate of exports.
