The first Italian pomegranates of the Lome Super Fruit brand, including the Shany and Emek varieties, will be available from September 6 for two weeks before the Ako cultivar. The farm, which has about 30 hectares of early varieties, expects to sell twice as many pomegranates as last year. The installation of anti-hail nets has allowed for protection against hail and extreme heat, resulting in a higher percentage of Class I fruit. The marketing season is expected to last about seven months, with plans to fulfill orders in the Italian market and provide 100% Italian pomegranates grown in Apulia.
