A new animal health service, Santé bovins Suisse (SBS), has been created on October 1, 2021, following the merger of the Bovine Health Service (SSB) and the Calf Health Service (SSV). The service aims to strengthen preventive and herd medicine in cattle breeding and will cover the entire Swiss territory with offices in Zollikofen, Zurich, and a branch in French-speaking Switzerland. SBS offers a comprehensive health program and advice for all cattle farms, aiming to promote animal health and welfare through early detection and preventive measures. The service also benefits from a broad base of support from various stakeholders, ensuring sustainable development in animal health promotion.
