In May, Ukraine experienced a significant surge in sunflower oil exports, reaching a volume of 186 thousand tons, a 23% increase from the previous month and the highest since the onset of the war. Over 60 countries imported Ukrainian sunflower oil, with the European Union accounting for 82% of the total. Poland was the top importer, receiving 20% of the exports. Other notable importers included Turkey. The total sunflower oil output in Ukraine for the 2021/22 season is projected to increase by 24.1% from the previous year, reaching over 7.2 million tons.
