Despite the full-scale Russian invasion, meat consumption in Ukraine has remained steady at 52 kg per person per year. The consumption is divided into poultry (50%), pork (37%), and beef (13%). The livestock industry has seen a shift, with more livestock and poultry being sold for slaughter, and meat processing enterprises increasing production of finished poultry meat products. There has been a positive export balance for meat products since the start of the war. However, the livestock industry has seen a decrease in assets by 10-15% due to the loss of control over production facilities in occupied territories and active combat zones.
