State Duma Deputy and leader of the "Fair Russia" faction, Sergey Mironov, proposed reducing the retirement age for workers in the agro-industrial complex (AIC). The politician voiced this initiative in a conversation with RIA Novosti. According to him, women should be allowed to retire at 55, and men at 60. This measure, according to the politician, should be just one of the social benefits for agrarian workers. It should be noted that the proposed age is lower than the general insurance pension age for all workers in the country, which currently stands at 59 and 64. It is set within the transitional period of the pension reform, which foresees its increase by 2028 to 60 and 65 respectively. The deputy also explained that an important condition for receiving such a benefit is work experience in agriculture for men of at least 25 years, and for women, 20 years.
