EU ministers have approved a regulation to double Moldova's exports of seven agricultural products to the EU for a year, without any duties. This is part of the EU's efforts to help Moldova recover from the consequences of the Russian-Ukrainian war and deepen its trade relations. The temporary trade liberalisation measures will redirect Moldovan exports towards the EU, bypassing reliance on Ukrainian infrastructure and competition from Russia and Belarus. The EU already contributes to Moldovan agriculture through support assistance funds, which have modernised livestock farms and established new vineyards, leading to a significant increase in Moldova's exports to Europe.
