The Thai Cabinet has allocated a budget of 684,218,000 baht to combat Lumpy Skin disease in cattle and buffalo, as proposed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives. This includes funding for the purchase of 5 million vaccines, with half expected to arrive in Thailand within 15 days. The Department of Livestock Development has a plan in place to vaccinate all cattle farmers and buffalo owners, aiming for herd immunity. So far, 349,738 cows have received vaccination, representing 98% of those injected. The disease has affected a total of 561,124 animals, with 343,015 recoveries and 43,121 deaths. The number of new sick animals is expected to decrease significantly with targeted vaccination, and the disease is projected to be eradicated within three months.
