Demand for the niche berry, elderberry, has increased in Ukraine due to its use in supplements for recovery from illness. However, experts do not anticipate widespread industrial cultivation due to legislative regulations and lack of planting material. Other niche berries such as honeysuckle, blackberries, and alpine strawberries have promising markets. The demand for sea buckthorn has grown, and there is potential for red currant and gooseberry. The development of niche berries in Ukraine will depend on the efforts of producers, traders, and processors.
