Georgia's hazelnut exports in November brought in $13.3 million, showing a decrease from the previous season but with a narrowing gap between the two seasons. The inshell hazelnuts segment saw a 3% increase from the previous year, reaching a record 1240 tons with a higher average price of $3.00/kg. Ninety percent of these inshell hazelnuts were exported to Italy. Although kernel exports increased slightly from October, they still fell behind November 2021 by 6%. The average price for kernels remained unchanged at $4.80/kg, with Germany, Italy, and Armenia being the main buyers. Despite the overall decline this season compared to the previous one, there has been increased demand from importers, with expectations of more activity from March 2023.
