Brazil: Pecém resumes fruit exports to Spain and Italy with a load of 1,300 tons this Wednesday

The Port of Pecém resumed this Wednesday (28) the export of fruit to the ports of the Mediterranean Sea, focusing on the markets of Spain and Italy. The line is operated by the European shipping company MSC (Mediterranean Shipping Company). In addition to serving the main ports in the Mediterranean, the service is also the only one that allows fruit to be exported between a terminal in northeastern Brazil and ports in Italy. Since early this Wednesday morning, 1,300 tons of melon, watermelon, mango and grapes produced in the states of Ceará, Rio Grande do Norte, Pernambuco and Bahia have been shipped. In all, 51 40-foot containers or 102 TEUs (unit equivalent to a 20-foot container) will be shipped.
