Poland wants to ban the import of frozen raspberries and strawberries from Ukraine

Poland plans to obtain from the European Union a ban on the import of frozen raspberries and strawberries from Ukraine. This was reported by the Polish government. They noted that Poland will ask European Trade Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis to include frozen raspberries and strawberries in the so-called preventive measures, i.e. ban their import from Ukraine. On July 14, at the initiative of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Robert Telus, a video meeting of the Ministers of Agriculture of Poland, Bulgaria, Romania, Slovakia and Hungary was held regarding preventive measures regarding the import of fruits from Ukraine. Minister Robert Telus reported that in 2022 and in the first months of 2023, the import of Ukrainian strawberries and frozen raspberries to Poland increased significantly.
