Russia: Pork exports to China could reach 70 thousand tons in 2024

In 2024, Russia can supply 60-70 thousand tons of pig products to China. Its general director, Yuri Kovalev, spoke about this during the annual meeting of the National Union of Pig Breeders. According to him, now supplies to the republic are just beginning to bring results - about 10 thousand tons were shipped in the first six months of 2024. Kovalev explained such volumes by the fact that the first deliveries began only two or three months ago and are carried out by only three companies. In general, during the reporting period, exports of pig products amounted to 121.5 thousand tons (plus 2%), which means that the entire additional volume produced - 180 thousand tons live or 130 thousand tons slaughter weight - remained on the domestic market .
