In Ukraine, raw milk prices have seen a decrease of 22-40 kopecks in May, following a weak domestic and international demand for dairy products, high milk season, and transport company strikes in Poland. The average purchase price of extra grade milk has dropped to UAH 11.73/kg without VAT, with the average price of higher grade milk also decreasing by 40 kopecks. The average price of first grade milk has also fallen by 22 kopecks. The continued downward trend in milk prices is attributed to the ongoing war in Ukraine, which has led to a decrease in consumer purchasing power and a shift to cheaper locally produced dairy products. Additionally, the European market is experiencing a surplus of raw milk, further driving down prices.
