Over the past week, the wholesale price of strawberries decreased by 11.2 percent in the European wholesale market. The drop in prices was primarily due to the abundant Spanish supply: here, strawberries were offered for sale at a price range of 2.50–2.80 euros/kilogram, which also pushed down prices in other countries. In Hungary, the first domestic strawberries from foil cultivation appeared in the supply at the end of March. The initial wholesale prices per kilogram were 5000 forints, which rapidly decreased to 3600 forints. Meanwhile, imported goods can be obtained for 1200–1400 forints. The Spanish supply continues to be decisive on European counters: the quantity of strawberries from the Huelva region began to increase again by the end of March, although the total volume still lagged behind the previous year's level.
