The grey sea urchin met its quota of 504.4 tons, while the black sea urchin fell short at 6.5 tons. Grey sea urchins accounted for 83.5% of the total catch, and black sea urchins for 41.9%. Due to their unique habitat, sea urchins are a crucial source for various chemical compounds used in medicinal, cosmetic, and food products. The increased interest in these compounds is driven by their diverse biological activity and potential for developing new natural products.
