Profitability of hazelnut cultivation has been announced in Ukraine

There are already hazelnut plantations in Ukraine, the cultivation of which was previously considered a completely hopeless occupation in our region. However, in recent years the situation has changed dramatically. And this is due to climate change, which is becoming favorable for the industrial cultivation of hazelnuts. This was reported by the press service of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine, writes agronews.ua. Hazelnuts are used in the production of chocolate and candy. The purchase price varies depending on a number of factors, but does not fall below 2.5 euros per kilogram of unpeeled nuts. If you peel the nuts, it will increase the price to 5-7 euros per kilogram. As for the yield, the highest rates of hazelnuts give at the age of 6-8 years, it is at least 2-2.5 tons per hectare.
