In April 2021, Ukraine experienced a significant shift in its fruit and vegetable trade, with onion exports seeing a record high for the past four years and carrot exports also reaching record levels. Conversely, cabbage imports were also at a record high due to increased demand. Despite the large onion exports, prices remained low. Potato exports and imports, especially of high-quality potatoes, also increased. Ukraine imported a substantial volume of dried onions and experienced a sharp increase in frozen corn exports. Additionally, there was a record import of strawberries and a notable increase in imports of watermelons, plums, and hazelnuts.
